My name is Kendra.
I’m a writer, mostly. A lot of other things, too, but fundamentally, essentially, I am a writer. I always have been.
I’m an introvert. You know those personality tests that score you on a scale, and you are never 100% one thing or another? Well, I’m 100% introvert. I live alone and I like it. (Actually I live with two dogs and a cat, but that’s not quite the same as people.)
I’m child free, and I like that too. I have many friends with kids and those friends respect my life choices and I respect theirs.
I spent ten years of my life living in other countries. Italy, China, Japan, Australia.
I think society is too obsessed with evidencing success through productivity and possession of material things. I am trying to live my life more “unsuccessfully.”
I’m trying to learn that I should not live my life by “shoulds.” (Do you see what I did there? Funny, right?)
Mostly, I like to write.
Update April 2015: I started this blog a little over a year ago. I’ve done a number of different kinds of posts: humorous, number lists, advisory, political, confessional. Nothing felt “right” in the sense that it could be a consistent style or theme for the blog. Then I started a series called “Happy Photo,” which was intended to be posts with just a photo and accompanying quote. But I kept writing for these posts. And eventually I realized that I liked this style. So most of my posts are done in this way now. Photo, quote, writing. As for theme, it’s just my life, things I learn and think. Thanks for reading!
